I was super excited to receive a garden update from Millie this week and totally surprised by how well things are going in her garden! It turns out lady luck was on our side and we didn't totally ruin Aunt Shirley's gardening efforts. Her green beans and collard greens are thriving right along with the spinach, yellow squash, tomatoes, basil and zucchini that Millie & I planted. I'm pleased to see that a few tomato cages and stakes have made their way into the garden and also some cute little garden markers. I hope that the story of Millie's garden along with the ups and downs occurring in my own backyard will inspire you to grow something (if you don't already). Gardening has shown me what can be accomplished when desire, patience, observation and love are mixed in with good soil, sunshine and rain.
