In the Garden, Talking 'bout the garden.... entry # 2

This week I've been busy preparing for additional plantings and marvelling at little green things that are sprouting around every corner of my property.

Pink peonies are my absolute favorite flower and last year I decided to plant the Sarah Bernhardt variety.  She basically looked like dead sticks all year but to my delight, I see signs that her beautiful face will soon be revealed.  If only one peony blooms, I will be happy!

The three Forever and Ever White Out Hydrangea that I planted in pots last year were sitting on upside down crates by my garden a few weeks ago.  The other day I found them inside the crates.  I guess they didn't like that arrangement. I need to find plant stands very soon.  I'm happy to see their leaves coming in as last year was the last time I was going to buy hydrangeas.  They have shown me that tenacity does pay off and I can't wait to see them shine!

Last year I also introduced a container garden that included daylilies, lambs ear, black eyed susan and a few annuals that I don't recall.  This year, I think I'll add pansies for early spring color and later include petunias.  Since my first try went so well, I'm going to go crazy and plant a second container.  Success in the garden is a great motivator!

Mr. Leonard (my neighbor) mentioned that I needed to relocate some of my bearded irises as they have outgrown their current location.  In looking at that situation, I also realized that my daisies could use a little TLC and maybe my liriope would like a new home.  Now I just need to figure out where all of this stuff can go! Here's my week in pictures...
